Welcome to TellaFable. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

TellaFable is an AI-powered reading platform that provides personalized stories, reading assistance, and educational content for children. Our services include:

• Access to a curated library of children's stories
• AI-powered story generation and personalization
• Lumi, our AI reading companion for guided reading support
• Reading progress tracking and analytics
• Multi-profile support for families

3.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. TellaFable is designed for children to use under parental or guardian supervision. Parents/guardians are responsible for all activity under their account, including child profiles.

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Not share your account with others

4.1 Subscription Plans

TellaFable offers various subscription plans with different features and pricing. Current plans and pricing are available on our Pricing page.

4.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis
• Payment is processed securely through Stripe
• You authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable fees
• Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increases. Continued use of the service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5.1 User-Generated Content

You may create custom stories and profiles on our platform. You retain ownership of your content, but grant us a license to use, store, and process it to provide our services.

5.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Create inappropriate or offensive content (harassment, hate speech, explicit material)
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Use automated tools to access the service (scraping, bots)
• Share or resell access to the platform
• Reverse engineer or copy our technology

Our platform uses AI technology to generate stories and provide reading assistance. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may not always be perfect or accurate
• We use reasonable efforts to ensure content is age-appropriate
• Parents/guardians should supervise children's use of AI features
• We are not liable for the content of AI-generated stories

7.1 Our Rights

All content on TellaFable (excluding user-generated content), including stories, illustrations, software, and branding, is owned by TellaFable or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our platform for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7.3 User Content License

By creating content on our platform, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your content solely for providing and improving our services.

Your use of TellaFable is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

TellaFable is designed for children to use with parental supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for:

• Monitoring their child's use of the platform
• Reviewing content before allowing children to access it
• Managing child profile settings and permissions
• Ensuring appropriate use of AI features
• Teaching digital literacy and online safety

10.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

10.2 Educational Disclaimer

TellaFable is designed to support literacy development but is not a substitute for formal education or professional educational advice.

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TellaFable shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in prohibited conduct. Upon termination:

• Your access to the service will be immediately revoked
• You will lose access to your account and content
• We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• You remain liable for any outstanding fees

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a prominent notice on our platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law.

Our platform integrates with third-party services:

• Supabase (database and authentication)
• Stripe (payment processing)
• OpenAI (AI features)

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for third-party service interruptions or policy changes.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
