How do I create a personalized story?

Click the 'Start a New Story' button in your library, enter details about your child (name, age, interests), and our AI will generate a unique story featuring your child as the main character.

How does Lumi, the AI reading companion, work?

Lumi provides interactive reading support by asking comprehension questions, helping with pronunciation, and offering encouragement. Enable Lumi from the reading toolbar when viewing any story.

Can I read stories offline?

Currently, an internet connection is required to access stories. We're working on offline reading capabilities for future releases.

How many stories can I create?

The number of stories you can create depends on your subscription plan. Check our pricing page for specific limits on each plan.

Accounts & Profiles

How do I create child profiles?

Go to Settings > Profiles and click 'Add Profile'. Enter your child's name, age, and reading preferences. You can create multiple profiles depending on your subscription plan.

Can I switch between child profiles?

Yes! Use the profile selector in the header to switch between different child profiles. Each profile has its own reading history and preferences.

How do I track my child's reading progress?

Visit the Analytics page to see detailed reading statistics, including stories completed, time spent reading, and progress over time.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures. Read our Privacy Policy for details on how we protect your information.

Billing & Subscriptions

What subscription plans are available?

We offer Individual and Family plans with monthly and annual billing options. Visit our pricing page for current rates and features.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings > Subscription and click 'Cancel Subscription'. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact our support team at support@tellafable.com to discuss your situation.

How do I update my payment method?

Navigate to Settings > Subscription > Payment Method to update your card information securely through Stripe.

Settings & Customization

How do I change reading settings?

Use the reading toolbar at the top of any story to adjust font size, font family, line height, and theme (light/dark/sepia).

Can I customize story recommendations?

Yes! Update your child's profile preferences (age, interests, reading level) to receive more personalized story recommendations.

How do I enable dark mode?

Dark mode is available in the reading experience. Click the theme button in the reading toolbar and select 'Dark' mode.

Can I hide specific stories?

Currently, you can favorite stories you like. We're working on adding more content filtering options in future updates.

AI Features

What AI technology does TellaFable use?

We use OpenAI's GPT models for story generation and Lumi's reading assistance features, ensuring high-quality, age-appropriate content.

Are AI-generated stories safe for children?

Yes. We have content filters and moderation in place to ensure all stories are age-appropriate. However, we recommend parental supervision.

Can I edit AI-generated stories?

Currently, you cannot edit stories after generation. If you're not satisfied with a story, you can generate a new one.

How accurate is Lumi's reading support?

Lumi uses advanced AI to provide helpful reading guidance. While highly accurate, we recommend parents supervise young readers.

Troubleshooting

The app is loading slowly. What should I do?

Try refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, or checking your internet connection. If issues persist, contact support.

I'm having trouble logging in.

Use the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page to reset your password. Check that you're using the correct email address associated with your account.

Stories aren't loading properly.

Ensure you have a stable internet connection and try refreshing the page. If the problem continues, contact our support team.

How do I report a bug or technical issue?
